MY SPECIAL MESSAGES (FRIDAY JULY 26 2024 3:50 PM EDT)

  • See the latest birdseye view post published below for more information on the following disturbances:

  • A surface front currently over the east-central United States will shift offshore during the weekend, evolving into a northwest Atlantic surface cyclone with possible tropical characteristics. Surf generated by the cyclone may reach the shores of the northeastern United States, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick Sunday and Monday.

  • A tropical wave of low pressure and pre-existing spin ahead of the wave a forecast to merge in the central tropical Atlantic, and the combined disturbance will be watched for possible tropical cyclone formation over the next few days. Regardless of further development or not, the disturbance may bring heavy rainfall across the Lesser Antilles by the middle of this upcoming week.

  • As the author of infohurricanes.com, I have also been monitoring the progress of the worldwide progress of the COVID-19 virus. The COVID-19 page has not been updated over the last several months. The COVID-19 page will be updated with a final report on how the virus progressed over last few years.

BIRDSEYE VIEW POSTS

Since 2012 on the now retired Weather Underground blogs, I have been posting annotated "birdseye view" charts of the Atlantic basin, with a detailed explanation and forecasting that references the chart. From there you may know me as "NCHurricane2009." While I now do these "birdseye view" posts here, I will continue to do comments at Yale Climate Connections via Disqus where the former Weather Underground community has moved to. Feel free to reply to me there, at my Disqus feed at this link, or via e-mail at IOHurricanes@outlook.com
