• A frontal cyclone has formed just southeast of the Azores with the support of an upper vortex moving into the region, and is being monitored for acquisition of tropical characteristics. A second frontal cyclone is forecast to form toward the east-northeast by Wednesday while absorbing the current one near the Azores. Regardless of whether or not the feature near the Azores acquires tropical characteristics, the sprawling circulation of both frontal cyclones will bring coastal surf, gusty winds, and periods of heavy rainfall to the Canary Islands and Azores through Wednesday.
